Jorge Mas, the owner of Inter Miami, has flown Messi back to the United States along with his eighth Ballon d’Or trophy. A ceremony honoring El Pulga is expected to be held by Inter Miami in February 2024. Lionel Messi has beaten Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to win his eighth Ballon d’Or award, which is considered a tribute to El Pulga after he helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup.

It’s worth noting that the Argentine superstar became the first player in Major League Soccer (MLS) to win the Ballon d’Or. This is why the forward has been treated exceptionally by Inter Miami. Jorge Mas, the owner of Inter Miami, brought Messi and the Ballon d’Or back to the United States on a private jet. On social media (formerly known as Twitter), businessman Jorge Mas posted a photo with Messi on the plane. He captioned it, “We have an additional passenger on our flight, the Ballon d’Or, returning to Inter Miami with us.”
Jorge Mas attended the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris with another co-owner of the club, David Beckham. It was Beckham who presented the Ballon d’Or trophy to Messi on stage.
David Beckham presented the Golden Ball to Messi in a recent ceremony, expressing his pride that the soccer superstar is a part of Inter Miami and resides in the beautiful city of Miami. He anticipated that Messi would celebrate the award with his teammates and family in his own unique way, while Miami itself would also celebrate with a festive party. The Inter Miami club has scheduled a tribute ceremony for Messi’s eighth Golden Ball in February 2024, coinciding with a friendly match against Messi’s childhood team, Newell’s Old Boys from Argentina. In November, Inter Miami will embark on a tour of China and play a friendly match against Qingdao Hainiu on November 8th, but it is unclear at this time if Messi will accompany the team to China.
