The 2022 World Cup hosted in Qatar has united two wonderful interests of Indian women: long-distance exploration and football. Najira Noushad, accompanied by her five children, exemplifies this beautiful synergy.
Najira Noushad, a 33-year-old housewife and travel blogger, embarked on a remarkable journey starting on October 15th from Kannur city in southern India, as reported by India Times. This courageous venture spanned 49 days and covered a distance of 3,000 kilometers, passing through two other Indian cities before taking a train to Oman. From there, she continued her journey by car, traversing through the UAE and Saudi Arabia until she reached her ultimate destination, Qatar.
The primary purpose of this extraordinary expedition was to have the incredible opportunity to witness live matches featuring the renowned Lionel Messi on the football field. Additionally, passionate fans of the Argentina team fervently desire to see their favorite team lift the coveted World Cup trophy.
Najira Noushad, accompanied by her car, joyfully checked-in upon arriving in Doha, Qatar.
Najira didn’t embark on this journey alone; her five children accompanied her to show their support for football. The family’s SUV transformed into their mobile abode, with groceries, utensils, stoves, and bedding piled up in the back of the vehicle.
While traveling to the UAE, she encountered some difficulties and had to hitchhike a truck. Impressed by Najira’s immense passion for the sport of kings, the government of Qatar generously sponsored all their expenses as they arrived in the country to watch football.
Media outlets and TV stations in the Gulf region are eagerly seeking this inspiring mother and travel blogger for a face-to-face interview.
Najira mentioned that she is no stranger to traveling in Gulf countries. Currently residing in Oman, she holds an Omani driver’s license, which is valid across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Therefore, she was familiar with the roads in the area.
“I live in Oman with my husband and children. But I wanted to start my journey from my hometown, my roots. Hence, I returned to India,” Najira explained.
As a mother of five, her ultimate desire is to witness the renowned player Messi in action on the football field.
In addition to football, the woman also has a penchant for traveling in the “phhot” style. Last year, she and a close friend embarked on a remarkable journey across India, covering an impressive distance of 13,000 kilometers, passing through 17 states and 5 territories of the country.
In February, Najira ventured on a solo trip, hitchhiking from Kuttanad in Kerala state, India, all the way to Everest Base Camp in Nepal. This extraordinary expedition lasted for 50 days.
Najira expressed gratitude for her husband’s unwavering support in fulfilling her passion for exploration. “Alongside my biological mother, he is my biggest supporter. He always encourages me to pursue what brings me joy. Even when I bring along our five children, I have never hesitated to hit the road,” she shared.
Once again, she didn’t hesitate to embark on the drive to Doha. The prospect of witnessing Messi and his teammates from Argentina on the field served as the most significant catalyst for her journey.
