But on Wednesday, Hugh Jackman had heads turning as he stripped down to a pair of black and grey board shorts in Hawaii. 

Taking off his black skin tight T-shirt, the Wolverine star ventured into the crystal clear water for a refreshing swim while showing off his muscular figure and clearly visible six pack.

Taking nothing down to the beach but a towel and a pair of sunglasses he seemed to already be settling into holiday mode. 

The 46-year-old appeared impressed with the tropical scenery while enjoying some alone time during a break from his busy acting schedule.

The actor and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness have checked themselves in to the Kukio resort.

The beachfront hotel is located north of the popular holidaying island.

Before venturing off for the romantic getaway, Hugh had been busy getting to grips with spreading the word for his latest film Pan.

The actor plays the part of pirate Blackbeard and stars in the movie with model turned actress, Cara Delevingne.

The action film was inspired by the famous book, Peter Pan.

Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland.

There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny—to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.

The fantasy film was due to be released in July but Warner Bros’ has moved it back to October.

The film’s director, Joe Wright said in a statement last week they were ‘giving both the film and the filmmakers some extra breathing room.’

‘This allows me and my team the time to complete the movie and tell the story the way it should be told.’
