Dua Lipa brought a little sultry holiday fashion to the 2023 Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles last night. The singer and Barbie guest star stepped out in a sheer lace Chanel dress with a black lingerie set visible underneath. She accessorized with Tiffany & Co. diamonds.
Lipa spoke to Variety at the end of November about what is coming next from her. “I definitely got more music coming,” she began. “Right now, I’m in the ‘Houdini’ world. I’m just thrilled that I’m finally signed to release new music. Honestly, it hit me so quick—the intensity of everyone’s reaction. It’s amazing. It’s definitely the biggest reaction I’ve ever gotten from anything I’ve ever done. I’m just really happy and ready to start this next chapter.”
As for her Barbie single, “Dance the Night,” being nominated for a Grammy, Lipa couldn’t hide her excitement. “It’s really just so exciting and such a dream to be part of such a mammoth movie. It’s unbelievable. I feel very lucky,” she shared. “It’s just nice to see people’s response—the whole energy behind the film, the meaning behind it, the solidarity between women. It’s been beautiful to see.”
Lipa first spoke about the start of her new musical chapter last month on Instagram. When she released “Houdini” on November 9, she wrote, “So it begins… thank you for your patience. The first release from my upcoming album🫀 feeling so filled with love and joy to get to do this with ‘the band’ (@tameimpala @dannylharle @carolineailin @tobiasjessojr) and to share this moment with the world.
