She’s no stranger to a seriously chic red carpet look, but Dua Lipa’s 90s-inspired look at last night’s Grammy Awards has to be one of her best yet.
The Grammy Awards is famous for playing host to some of the industry’s most dramatic and outrageous outfits, it was the pared-back simplicity of Dua’s cami-strapped two-piece that saw her stand out amongst a sea of sequins and lashings of frothy tulle.
Designed by none other than vintage queen Vivienne Westwood, the look comprised of a simple white satin skirt slip paired with a matching, cropped cami vest complete with functional, adjustable straps.
Corseted in shape with a loose cowl front, it sent us on a nostalgic road into the Kate Moss archives.
We just knew we’d seen something similar before…
Reminiscent of a white slip dress Kate wore in 1995 to The Council Of Fashion Designers Of America Gala Ball in New York, Dua’s take differed only in its two-piece nature.
But her love letter to the nineties didn’t end there, with a scraped-back high bun and mid-part tendrils complimenting her electric blue eye shadow, diamond choker and hooped earrings – both by fine jewellery designer Maria Tash.
Dua, our nineties-loving hearts salute you.
Dua faced some stiff compeтιтion on the red carpet with Ariana Grande dropping to the floor to get THAT pH๏τo of her big dress energy via Giambattista Valli whilst Lizzo went all throwback bridal in a full white custom ensemble and matching faux fur stole. We stan these red carpet queens. But it wasn’t all down to the female artists, Lil Nas X performed in a silver two piece and of course his signature cowboy hat alongside BTS and we think the internet actually broke around the world.
