Dealing with in-laws can be hard.
And Chris Hemsworth proved that being one of Hollywood’s biggest stars doesn’t make you immune to the difficulties of extended family.
Taking to Instagram, the 36-year-old actor shared a hilarious shot of himself posing next to his wife’s family, appearing somewhat excluded from the group.

Standing on a glass balcony next to a pool, Elsa looked chummy next to her family as they laughed and smiled together.
But Chris, however, was spotted standing in the pool posing in the background.
‘I love Christmas it really brings people together,’ Chris said, sarcastically.

He then jokingly poked fun at his relatives.

Chris was clearly having a laugh at his extended family, as he enjoyed Christmas with his own parents and two brothers, Liam and Luke, too.

Having just built their enormous $20 million home in Byron Bay, Chris and Elsa are believed to be spending the extended holidays in their new home.
Chris was joined by his parents, as well as brother Luke and his wife Samantha, along with newly-single actor brother, Liam.
Chris is winding down after a big year following the release of Avengers: Endgame, with him announcing he will soon take time off.

In an interview with Sunrise on Tuesday, he said he will look to take six to eight months off next year.
The star revealed: ‘I’m going to take some time off now – probably six to eight months – and just be at home.’
‘I had a real, sort of, come down off the back of that press tour for Avengers and it was the most intense three weeks,’ he said.

With that Marvel series now complete and a couple of projects recently announced – including the fourth Thor film – Chris said he plans to be more in the ‘moment’ during his time off.
Chris and Elsa relocated their young family to Byron Bay five years ago after living in Los Angeles.
In an interview with Women’s Health back in 2017 Elsa said that they wanted a quieter, more laid-back lifestyle.
‘In Byron we just feel like locals. People really respect us… and it’s what I always dreamt of giving to my kids.’
Now, the Hemsworths are preparing to move into a ‘mega mansion’ set on a 4.2 hectare estate in Broken Head, south of Byron Bay, worth an estimated $20million.
