According to midfielder Edison Azcona, the team understands the importance of safeguarding Messi and is extra cautious during training sessions. This rule is not new as it was also enforced during Messi’s time with Barcelona from 2004 to 2021. Jean-Claire Todibo, a center-back who played for Barcelona from 2019-2021, confirms that Messi was always protected during training to prevent injury. Currently, Messi is enjoying a break with his family and pursuing other passions outside of football. Last weekend, he attended Ed Sheeran’s concert at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their three sons.

Apart from meeting Ed Sheeran in person, Messi also took some time off to play two friendly matches with Inter Miami in China on November 5th and 8th. He will then take a break until January to spend more time with his family before returning to training in preparation for the new season starting in late February. Despite rumors of a short-term loan move, Messi denied any such possibility as he wants to focus on spending time with his loved ones.
