Architecture and design firm LOT-EK has upcycled 40-foot shipping containers and turned them into a single-family home located in Claverack, New York.
In total, six shipping containers were used to create 1,920 square feet of living space spread over two levels.
Large glass walls were added to the shipping containers to provide cross light and ventilation to all areas, with large decks that total an additional 400 square feet, and expand the living space into both the front and back yards.
Stepping inside, and there’s an open layout with a living room, dining, and kitchen on the ground level.
Two staircases connect the lower floor with the upper floor of the home.
On the upper floor of the home are the two bedrooms, each accessible by its own stair, and each with a full bathroom and walk-in closet.
An external stair provides access to the green roof and deck.
