Without a doubt, Disney has launched the careers of many celebrities. Actor Ryan Gosling was also one of them as he starred in Disney’s The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in the 1990s alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.

The Barbie star wasn’t a child prodigy, in fact, he felt undermined when he first appeared on the show. In one of his recent interviews, the actor explained that he didn’t feel confident and questioned why he was on the show. Today, he has managed to prove himself as one of the best actors of all time thanks to his ability to portray all sorts of complex characters.

Actor Ryan Gosling recently appeared for an interview with GQ and talked about several things including his time on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in the 1990s. The actor explained that he wasn’t really confident and questioned why he was on the show,

“Everybody was at, like, prodigy level. I certainly wasn’t a child prodigy. I didn’t know why I was there. And I think that was the consensus. It’s why I didn’t work—it was like, they dressed me up as a hamster or put me in the background of someone’s song. But it was all a great experience in a way because it helped me figure out what I wasn’t going to be good at. Which is important to learn too.”

Gosling worked with some other child stars who went on to become famous just like him, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The actor wasn’t lying when he said other kids were on the “prodigy level” as his appearance on-screen was infrequent because other children were considered more talented.

Gosling initially started out as a child actor and finally got a role in The All-New Mickey Mouse Club, which started in 1989 and ended in 1994. However, that was not sufficient for him. The actor worked hard in the 1990s looking for his big break. Finally, his role as Danny Balint in Henry Bean’s The Believer (2001) caught the attention of the viewers.

The actor then starred in The Notebook (2004), which was a turning point in his career. His filmography also includes hits like Lars and the Real Girl (2007), Blue Valentine (2010), Drive (2011), The Place Beyond the Pines (2012), and La La Land (2016). The actor’s performance as Ken in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming movie, Barbie, has created a lot of buzz on social media. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on 21st July 2023.
